Deishu Expeditions - Sea Kayak Rentals

Deishu Expeditions offers kayak rentals from our Haines, AK base from May1-Sept. 30. We rent kayaks to experienced kayakers and paddlers who have taken at least one guided trip with us. Inexperienced paddlers wishing to rent boats are encouraged to either join one of Guided Trips or one of our Instructional Trips so that we can see to it that you've got all the skills needed to have fun safely! For your protection, we employ only professional guides/instructors who are happy to teach you how to safely navigate our beautiful waterways.

Rental Kayaks are superbly equipped Necky sea kayaks and include paddles, life vests, sprayskirts, bilge pumps, paddle leashes, paddle-floats, area charts & rubber boots. A $100 refundable damage deposit is required for all local rentals. $350 per boat for all rentals outside of the Lynn Canal.

For those paddlers who don't wish to launch from our waterfront location, kayak shuttles outside of the city limits are available for a small fee. Favorite Rental Destinations in the Lynn Canal include Chilkoot Lake (spawning salmon, bears & eagles), Chilkoot Inlet (Whales, seals,sea lions, porpoise, sea birds & etc) , Chilkat Inlet (Same as Chilkoot but also Islands & glacial views), and the Chilkat Islands Marine Park (Sites similar to Chilkat Inlet).
